We have created 12 Collective Worship session plans (plus handouts) to help engage primary school or key stage two children with the Bible and scriptures.
We believe that our God speaks to us through the scriptures. To help primary school children experience this for themselves, we’ve created a suite of resources containing a variety of absorbing practical activities that can help young people to access the Bible and deepen their faith.
The materials are arranged into 30-60 minute worship sessions depending on the age of the children and the activity you choose. These worship sessions are ideal ready-made Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 RE resources, with some sessions offering alternative activities for one or the other stage.
The sessions include activities designed to be celebrated in classrooms and assembly halls, making them great Catholic resources for teachers that will save preparation time. They are also excellent resources for Catholic catechists teaching young people in schools and parishes.
All sessions include handouts to accompany the activities and guide the children through the liturgies and rites.
Each session includes four steps:
Each session will include music, some of which will be familiar and most of which can be sung without accompaniment. In many cases, we suggest using just the refrain or one verse with the refrain suitable for children of this age.
